Overview
This is a Dynasty league, meaning you draft and keep the players on your team across years. It is rotisserie style, so you get more points the higher you finish in each category. The categories are also weighted, so e.g. ERA is worth more than Saves. We award winners for the team that finishes the highest each month, and then the top 3 highest scores cumulatively for the year.
You can have as many players on your team, at whatever positions you like, while staying under the salary cap. At the end of each month, you pick the roster that gives you the highest scores (or defer to the Autorank).

Player Positions & Salaries
Player salaries are determined by CDM Sports. Anyone there below our leagues minimum player salary will be assigned the minimum player salary of $1000. Once salaries have been published in the preseason, they are frozen on the site and will not be updated throughout the year (even if CDM updates their salaries).

Position eligibility is determined by a combination of previous year's eligibility plus current year eligibility. For example, a player that plays 20+ games at 2B and SS last year and then switches to 3B this year will count at 2B/SS/3B in the month after he accumulated 20+ games at 3B. Baseball Reference is used as the source for number of games played at each position.

Rookies or players not accumulating 20 games at any position in the previous year are subject to the new player rule, where the player is eligible at whatever position he plays the most in on his first month. After he accumulates 20+ games at a position, he becomes eligible for that position. New players may now be eligible for multiple positions in their first year.

Veterans that do not accumulate 20+ games at any position in a year (due to injury or suckiness) are treated as a new player the following year, i.e. we no longer go back 2 or more years to determine eligibility.

Games are not cumulative across years, i.e. 15 games at catcher in 2005 plus 5 games in 2006 do not equal catcher eligibility. The player must play 20+ games during the same year to be eligible.

Positions are updated automatically but in the event of error, it is up to each manager to notify the commissioner of position changes if they are not automatic.

Teams Caps
The salary cap is $97,500. There is no maximum number of players. Each team must be under the salary cap at all times. Teams that are over the cap to start the following year must drop players in advance of the first draft. The deadline to make these drops will be communicated out and will precede the first redraft by a few days allowing other teams to review the drops.

Salary Cap adjustments for each year will be made by applying the difference between the average of the top 500 CDM player salaries from the current year and the average of the top 500 CDM player salaries from the previous year. The final cap will be rounded to the nearest $500. Minimum salaries will adjust by the same percentage, rounded to the nearest $50.

Drafts & Redrafts
Pre-season redrafts occur as close to the beginning of the season as possible. A redraft is held at the end of each month, and the end of the season. These are targeted to occur as close to the 1st of each month as possible. Each owner is given 15 minutes to make his pick (10 minutes for later rounds). Any owner who passes or is skipped can draft again in the next round.

Redrafts always occur in the reverse order of the season standings. Therefore, the last place team picks first, and the first place team picks first. This order repeats itself until all players are finished making picks. In the event of a tie in the Year to Date standings, the last month standings acts as a tiebreaker. There is no limit to the number of picks that can be made in each redraft.

Roster Selection

  1. Each month, you will count the statistics of 9 batters (1 for each position field position plus 1 DH). The other players are reserves and their statistics do not count. Any of the remaining players may be used for the 9th batter (designated hitter).
  2. 6 pitchers will count each month (traditionally 5 starters and 1 reliever – although any combo is acceptable).
Winnings
Each month - $10
The remaining pot will be split up in the following manner:
1st - 60%
2nd - 25%
3rd - 15%
This is a keeper league so if you are out of it for the current season you can build for the future in trades and redrafts.

Scoring

  1. Scoring is based on your team’s ranking in the categories listed below. The point values below are multiplied by the inverse of your team ranking in each category. All ties are both assigned the lower rank value:
  2. Batting

    Pitching

    Category Points Category Points
    Average 3 ERA 4
    Runs Scored 3 Wins 3
    RBI’s 3 Saves 3
    Home Runs 2 Innings 2
Stolen Bases 2 Strike Outs 1

  3. Monthly statistics will be accumulated through the following dates:
  4. 4/30

    5/31

    6/30

    7/31

    8/31

    9/27

  5. On the 1st of each month, you must update your rosters by 6pm PST. The redraft will be held as soon as possible following the end of the month.
Trades
Trades must be made by the 15th of each month in order for the traded players to count for their new teams in that month. Trades done after the redraft is complete must still allow both teams to remain under the salary and player cap.

"No Tank" Rule
In order to maintain the spirit of competition, owners are not allowed to "tank it" at any point in the season in order to lower their score and get a higher redraft pick. There is no objective measure in place to determine this, but if the Commissioner suspects that an owner is "tanking it", he can warn the owner first, and then if necessary have the computer's picks be used. If necessary, the Commissioner can take control of the owner's team temporarily or permanently.
